The last ten months of the Civil War in eastern Virginia are not well known to most history buffs and reenactors. To help participants prepare for the 2004 Reams Station Preservation March, a bibliography of fairly readily available books on the Petersburg and Appomattox campaigns is presented below. While there are certainly other excellent books with useful information on these campaigns, the works listed herein were selected because they are fairly general in nature, are not specific to a given regiment and reside on my personal bookshelf. Happy reading on your journey to learn more about these hard-fought, little known, and fascinating campaigns!
